Selena Gomez is an internationally known actress and singer. She's been a part of numerous projects, however her involvement in the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place has enjoyed the highest success. Her real name is Selena Marie Gomez. Born on the 22nd of July, 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez were her parents. Selena's mom was 16 years old at the time her birth. When she was 9 she got her first job in show business by being offered the part of Gianna in Barney and her Friends. In the process, she played with one of history's most anthropomorphic and red dinosaurs. Selena made an appearance in numerous episodes from seasons 7 & 8 between 2001 and 2003. Fun fact: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends during that time too, also worked with Selena. Selena Gomez tried out for various roles following the departure of Barney and Friends but was not successful. Selena Gomez was cast as Julie as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire and starred as a character in Mini Spies 3 in 2003. Also, she was offered the character of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2006 Brain Zapped program for which she composed a song.
