Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a star of the well-known TV series 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. From his early college days Meloni had a keen interest in acting. Then he studied at The University of Colorado at Boulder. While he has appeared in movies and on television however, it's his character actors on smaller screens which have earned him acclaim. This is not surprising since his characters have been able to capture the attention of viewers by playing characters who are on either sides of the law. In the first television show in which he played the role of a murderer. He then went on to portray the role as an NYPD Detective. The actor has been nominated several times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen performances. The piercingly blue eyes of his face have been deemed to be his most attractive feature. These have been used to depict rough characters and give them charisma. He was named in People's magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
