Kirsten Simone Vangsness is an American writer and actress who became famous when she appeared as the character "Penelope Garcia" in the crime procedural police drama TV series 'Criminal Minds'. Kirsten Simone Vangsness has also been a guest in the spinoffs 'Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders' and Criminal Minds: Speculative Behavior. The majority of her work is as a TV actress but has been in a couple of small roles in movies from her debut on showbiz in 1998. In the film industry, she is known for her performance on "In My Bed", "The Chicago 8" and "Kill Me, Deadly". In addition to writing articles for the 'The Los Angeles Times', she also co-wrote of three episodes for 'Criminal Minds'. She's rescued and helped rehabilitate many injured and abandoned kittens.
